Hall of Fame Criteria

The Board of Governors of Justin F. Kimball High School Alumni Association has established a Hall of Fame award for classmates who have shown themselves to have led worthy and fruitful lives in service to family, community or nation.

The following criteria shall govern and guide the Board of Governors in nominating and selecting those alumni worthy of being recognized. This award is a worthy honor not to be bestowed lightly nor awarded on standing, financial status, popularity or other criteria other than the simple rule of worthiness. It is intended to be permanent and upon the approval of the Board of Governors an appropriate symbol of the honor shall be awarded to the recipient and a permanent entry into the Justin F. Kimball High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame.

No less than six (6) alumni will be selected each calendar year and the membership shall be informed by written or electronic means of the recipients. The Board of Governors shall receive nominations from the Alumni Association membership names of individuals for consideration and should an insufficient number of nominations be received, the Board of Governors in its own judgment shall make the nominations. The Board of Governors shall determine the time and method of awarding the Hall of Fame but in no case less than once per calendar year.

Our Criteria for Nominees

Unlike many awards one might receive, an award bestowed by ones peers is of a particular honor. It is only appropriate that the friends and classmates in recognition of life achievement give our Hall of Fame Award. Therefore our Hall of Fame Award should be:

  • In acknowledgement and recognition of a nominee’s life or service to family, community or nation.
  • In recognition of a nominee’s fulfillment of the motto of Justin F. Kimball High School which is that “We Seek The Best”
  • In recognition of unselfishness to family, neighbor or child.
  • In recognition of contribution to others by a nominee’s work, education or service.
  • In recognition of such an outstanding contribution to society that it warrants acknowledgement.
  • In recognition of contribution to fostering and promotion of the ideals of a society that embodies tolerance, equality, compassion and opportunity for all.
  • In recognition of devotion to advancing society or mankind to a better state than they found it.
  • In recognition of a life well-lived, strong in values, tolerant of others and that embodies the ideals, which reflect credit upon themselves, their classmates and Justin F. Kimball High School.

A Nominee may be selected by one or all of the criteria above but the Hall of Fame Award should be bestowed with the reflection and spirit, which encompasses the broad objective of the Award. It should be given and received as a special gift and token of respect.
